FAQs: Approval Policy, Payment, Studio Trials

APPROVAL

Can I Try Clarinets on Approval?

I can send you up to three hand selected instruments to try for a two week approval. That period begins when I ship the clarinets to you. I ask only that you have the instrument(s) postmarked back to me 14 days after the invoice date. You are responsible for the instruments while they are in your possession. Make sure you insure the instruments that you are returning to me.

If you purchase an instrument, there is nothing additional to pay, except the price of the instrument and the shipping and insurance charges. You are responsible for shipping both ways. If you do not purchase an instrument however, you will be charged a $10.00 trial fee per instrument plus the original shipping and insurance charges. If you paid by credit card, you will also incur Visa/MasterCard's fee of 3% for the return of your money. All refunds are made by check to avoid incurring Visa/MasterCard's 3% processing fee. Unless you have made other arrangements to shop for more instruments, all refunds are made within 5 days of the return of the product.

If you absolutely need more than 14 days to try the clarinets, please call before your trial has expired to discuss an alternative return date.

Out of respect for other customers, as well as for the preservation of new instruments remaining new, please understand that Lisa's Clarinet Shop cannot accept, under any circumstances, any instruments returned after 30 days.

How Many Clarinets Can I Try on Approval?

Every clarinet I select is one that is worthy of a trial. I only choose the best instruments to sell. Usually, I will send you three. In fact, most people tell me they have trouble choosing among the three clarinets I send them.

PAYMENT

How Much of a Deposit Do I Need to Try Clarinets?

What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?

I accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover checks, money orders, wire transfers, school purchase orders, and, when arranged in advance, instruments on trade that I have inspected and approved.

STUDIO TRIALS

Can I Come to Lisa's Clarinet Shop and Try Instruments?

Lisa's Clarinet Shop always welcomes those who would like to schedule an appointment to buy an instrument in person. Currently, The Studio is available for clarinet and barrel trial appointments. As an added benefit, I will be available to guide and assist you during that appointment time. So, if you will be in the Chicago area contact us, via email or phone, and we can work to find a convenient time for us to meet.

Is it an Advantage to Try Instruments Out at Lisa's Clarinet Shop or Have Them Mailed on Approval?

Actually, it is probably more advantageous to have instruments mailed. The reason being is because you have the ability to try these instruments in your own environment, concert hall, as well as for peers, teachers and others who would be interested in listening. Having instruments to try in your own playing situation is an excellent way to be confident in your decision.

However, if you are able to come to Lisa's Clarinet Shop Studio to try instruments, you are still able to take the instruments you select with you an approval to be tried.

If you elect to take what you choose on approval, there is a $10.00 non refundable fee that will be charged if you do not make a purchase. This fee is charged because we must prepare the instruments to meet your specific needs and this takes time. This time is built into the price of the instrument and if no instrument is purchased must be recouped.
