Reedual
While I never had the time to really learn how to make my own reeds, this was the machine I remember learning on in a reed making class I took at Northwestern with Clark Brody. I have played on many reeds that great clarinetists have made from the Reedual and there is nothing, truly, like a good home made reed~ they play great for months at a time!
George Crossman, the creator of the Reedual, died in 2011. A tribute to him was written by reeddual user Kathryn Pirtle. It was Kathy who made sure the Reedual continued to live on after George. In 2011 it was sold to Rick Sayre of Sayre Woodwinds and now you too can buy a machine of your very own.
